The European Joint Master in Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (DIGISOC) is an interdisciplinary and international study programme addressing contemporary societal challenges at the intersection of digital transformation, social change and global responsibility.
DIGISOC focuses on the interaction between digital technologies, social innovation and global citizenship, with particular attention to three key societal sectors: Education, Communication and Culture.
The programme equips students with the analytical and conceptual tools needed to understand and critically engage with socio-digital transformations that shape democratic processes, social relations and cultural practices in Europe and beyond.
DIGISOC is offered as part of the EURIDICE Project, co-founded by the European Union and born within the AURORA Alliance. The Programme is collaboratively designed and delivered by multiple European higher education institutions, ensuring a shared academic framework across national contexts.
DIGISOC admits 90 students per academic year and is taught entirely in English. Teaching is delivered primarily in hybrid formats, combining onsite and online components. Students are enrolled at all degree-awarding universities while primarily attending courses at one host institution.
The DIGISOC Joint Master’s Programme is an initiative of three European degree-awarding universities: the University of Naples Federico II (Italy), the University of Innsbruck (Austria), and Palacký University Olomouc (Czechia).
The programme is supported by associated universities, including Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice (Slovakia), Universidade Lusófona (Portugal), and University Paris-Est Créteil (France).
For a more detailed discussion of the programme’s distinctive features, see What makes DIGISOC unique.
