Public Pedagogy for Digital Citizenship - 20 ECTS

• Public Pedagogy And The Digital

  Learning Objectives

  Students will learn to:

  • describe fundamental theoretical coordinates of public pedagogy and the related methodological devices
  • discuss the role that media education may play in enabling the digital sphere to become genuinely public
  • explain the differences between the distinct paradigms of public pedagogy in reference to digital citizenship, especially in terms of their resulting in distinct kinds of pedagogical interventions
  • design and implement projects of public education via the digital that counter new forms of discrimination, marginalisation and exclusion that take place specifically in the digital sphere
  • deconstruct the phenomena (e.g., hate speech) that undermine the ‘public quality’ of the digital sphere producing or reproducing marginalisation, discriminations and exclusions
  • undertake an educational analysis of the problems inherent to the designing and implementation of actions of public pedagogy via the digital
